An elegant, luxurious and historical Villa with private pool and garden, panoramic countryside views within a small village in the Province of Siena.
Luxury and elegance with a rich history, the origins of the Villa date back to the XVth century. The property was restored in the XIXth century and then completely rennovated in 2000 retaining original features in addition to incorporating modern comforts. The Villa is located in the hilltop village of San Giovanni d’Asso, opposite the Castle and has a large, sunny terrace in addition to a traditional Italian garden complete with lemon trees and pond, with a private swimming-pool, overlooking the picturesque Tuscan countryside.
Over the centuries, it has been owned by the bishop of Pienza and other members of the noble Siennese families. San Giovanni D’Asso is a charming little village which lies in the heart of the Crete Senese, the unique and spectacular countryside to the south of Siena
The spacious rooms have high ceilings, with windows overlooking both the valley and the Castle. The Villa comprises a large entrance hall, from which you enter the formal garden, two sitting-rooms, two dining-rooms, one with fireplace and the other leading out onto a large sunny terrace, with two dining tables and sun umbrellas. A fully equipped kitchen is adjacent to the main dining room and is equipped with all domestic appliances and cooking utensils. The Villa is beautifully furnished, with antiques throughout but still delightfully comfortable.
Eight bedrooms are spread over two levels and include four double bedrooms, three twin bedded rooms ( two may be made up as doubles), plus one single room may accommodate up to 15 guests (plus 6 in the smaller Villa next door for larger groups)
There are 5 well appointed bathrooms plus 1 en suite bathroom for the single room.
A daily maid service is provided and all bed linen and towels (also for the swimming pool) are included. The 6x 12 m swimming pool, maintained daily by the gardener, is located on a terrace, next to a large changing room. This was originally the laundry room, and contains a toilet and a fridge-freezer, suitable for poolside drinks and snacks.
The Villa may be rented in shoulder and low seasons (or last minute peak season) for smaller groups with up to 8 guests accommodated in 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms each with a bathroom.

LOCATION
The Villa is located in the middle of the small village of San Giovanni d’Asso, just opposite the Castle . The romantic village is famous for it’s ancient Castle that has been fully restored and houses the local Council and the Truffle Museum (every November the White Truffle Festival is hosted here), the Romanesque church of San Pietro in Villore (XIth century) with its cript, Il Bosco della Ragnaia.
In the village you can find a supermarket, a butcher’s, a pharmacy, a sort of general store, bank, post office, a coffee bar, a wine and cheese tasting Enoteca, along with an excellent restaurant. Every Wednesday morning there is an open market along the main street. San Giovanni d’Asso is located in the CRETE SENESI ,the beautiful countryside to the south of Siena ; Many famous and interesting spots such as Montalcino (Brunello wine), Pienza, Bagno Vignoni (spa),San Quirico d’Orcia, the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore are within a 30 minute drive with Siena just 40 mins away. Florence is approx 2 hours by car from San Giovanni D'Asso, 2.5 hours to reach Rome and just half an hour to discover the Valdichiana Outlet Village!
